Privacy Policy for AutoMetric

1. Introduction

AutoMetric is a vehicle expense tracking application. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to being transparent about how data is handled.

This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

2. Information We Collect

AutoMetric collects limited data strictly necessary for app functionality:

• Device Identifiers
  Used to enable push notifications and ensure proper app operation.
• Purchase History
  Used to manage subscriptions and unlock premium features.
• Usage Data
  Basic product interaction data used to ensure app functionality and stability.

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

3. Receipt Photos, Camera, and On-Device Processing

• You can attach a photo of a receipt to an expense. The photo is stored on your device and, if you turn on iCloud Sync, in your private iCloud. It is never sent to us.
• The camera is used only when you choose to photograph or scan a receipt. Photos you pick from your library are chosen through Apple's picker; AutoMetric sees only the photo you pick.
• Reading the amounts on a receipt, and understanding an expense you type in plain words, happen on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks (Vision and, where available, Apple Intelligence). No receipt or text is sent to a server for this.
• Reminders and budget alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device.

4. Sharing a Vehicle

If you share a vehicle, the people you invite through Apple's iCloud sharing can see and edit that vehicle's records, including its expenses, reminders, and receipt photos. Sharing uses Apple iCloud; we never receive the shared data. You can stop sharing, or a participant can leave, at any time from the vehicle's menu.

5. How We Use Information

Collected data is used only for:

• App functionality
• Subscription management
• Push notification delivery
• Improving app stability and performance

AutoMetric does not use data for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

AutoMetric uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat
  Used for managing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• OneSignal
  Used to deliver push notifications.
• Apple iCloud
  Used for private data synchronization across your devices, including receipt photos, and for sharing a vehicle with people you invite. Data stored in iCloud is associated with your Apple ID and is not accessible to us.

Each third-party service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

7. Data Storage and Security

• User data is stored locally on your device and/or in your private iCloud account.
• We do not maintain external databases containing personal user data.
• Reasonable technical measures are used to protect data, but no system is completely secure.

8. Children's Privacy

AutoMetric is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access information related to your data
• Delete app data by removing the app or clearing iCloud data
• Manage notification permissions through device settings

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date.
